The cotton flannel side is so soft against my face, and the terrycloth side actually scrubs without feeling rough. I've washed them a dozen times and they haven't pilled or lost their shape.

I've been using these for a couple weeks now and the flannel side is surprisingly soft against my face, way gentler than the rough drugstore cloths I had before. They hold up fine after several washes too, no fraying at the edges yet.

The terrycloth side is thick enough to really scrub without being rough, and the flannel side feels lovely and soft for the final wipe. I've washed them a bunch already and they haven't shrunk or lost their shape at all. These have honestly replaced every other cloth in my bathroom.
