I've been using these for about a month to take off mascara instead of disposable wipes, and the organic cotton side handles toner without leaving lint behind. The two different textures between the flannel and the cotton terry actually make a difference depending on what I'm using them for.
The flannel side is so soft on my face, and the organic cotton side has enough texture to actually get mascara off. I've washed these a dozen times and they still look new, way better than tossing a wipe every night.
Swapped my cotton balls for these and the flannel side grabs eye makeup way better than the disposable ones ever did. They wash up clean in the laundry bag and haven't frayed after a couple months of daily use.
